You can either install a Heat pump, 5 star gas or solar hot water system
Why solar ?
Even if you have gas now, there are significant incentives available to people who upgrade from gas to gas boosted solar & save up to 80% of their average total gas bill.
Why Heat Pump ?
Quite simply you wouldn't. If you have gas now you are best off to either replace your gas system with another gas system or install a gas boosted solar.
Heat pump may be a viable option if you are connected to LPG due to the significant costs involved with eahting water via LPG.
Why 5 Star Gas ?
If you have a gas hot water system now, to upgrade to 5 star will be the cheapest upfront option. If you aren't worried about ongoing energy costs, this is the way to go - environmentally friendly, but costs you a small fortune in the long run.
