1. Your options under the new code.
You can either install a Heat pump, 5 star gas or solar hot water system
Why solar ?
Solar is being heavily incentivised by the Government & is likely to be your cheapest option up front & also cheapest ongoing with 82% of your total hot water heating from the sun.
Why Heat Pump ?
If you don't want panels on your roof or if you have excessive shading, you can choose a heat pump, which still attracts some incentives to install & will help save the environment.
Why 5 Star Gas ?
If you have access to gas & don't care about saving money, then a 5 star gas hot water system will save as much Co2 as an electric boosted solar hot water system, with the only difference being that you are still paying a similar amount to install a gas system & will pay significantly more daily, to have a shower.
