Solar Hot Water Systems for a new home.
If you are building a new home you will need to comply with the new hot water regulations in South Australia.
you have the option of installing either a solar hot water system, a heat pump hot water system or a 5 star gas hot water system.
As a general rule gas will be the cheapest option up front & the most expensive ongoing.
Heat pump will cost more upfront than gas & will cost a similar price to the gas system to run ongoing.
Solar hot water systems will cost a similar amount to a heat pump up front, which is approximately double the price of a gas system, but will cost next to nothing to run.
If you are considering installing a solar hot water system in your new home, you will need to be mindful of the following.
1. Your builder will likely provide a 'provision for solar' which will involve basic pipework & electrical. if a provision has been provided we then can provide a plonk on installation.
2. Your rebate price will change from the day you first call to the time your system is actually installed. This is to do with the normal fluctuation of REC's.
